The first ski jumping hill at Degenfeld was inaugurated at Winterhalde, at "Kalten Feld" in 1926 and a year later the Swabian Championships were organized for the first time. After ski jumping activity was disrupted during the Second World War, Winterhalde-Schanze was rebuilt and again in 1947 the Swabian Championships were organized. In the 1950s, many competitions were organized with the participation of a large audience. Until today the 88 meter ski jumping hill is used in winter. Juniors have the opportunity to train on the plastic covered Kaltefeld ski jumps.
