In 1952 at Achomitz at the Carinthian-Italian border near Slovenia the first 30 meter hill was constructed. Later in 1959-1962 a K60 ski jump was built. In the following years, SV Achomitz / ŠD Zahomc developed into a very successful ski club, training young Austrian ski jumpers, such as the 1976 gold medalist Karl Schnabel. In the 1993/94 season a Carinthian winter sports center was set up in Achomitz, the jumps were enlarged into K75, K50, K32 and K20 and snow cannons were installed. SV Achomitz / ŠD Zahomc cares very much about the Austrian-Slovenian cooperation.
